Review: The Joker Notorious Lowrider (Lepin 07046)

I am finally able to write a review, since I was waiting for spare parts to arrive. Seller that sold me Lowrider sent missing parts with my next order. Good to know there are honest sellers.

I've paid 25$ for this set, but looks like now it costs even less. Package contined 10 packets + 1 ziplock bag with guns, stickers and a cape. There was no assembling sequence.

Pretty nice build of you ask me, looks decent, has no loose parts. Front glass is okay.

Tyres are okay. Those 4 golden sticks on the sides are actually guns. And the funny thing Lepin has strange mold combination for guns. This set requires 8 golden guns, each of them was included in pad which had 4 guns, only 1 of each pad was correct. Now I have 3 * 8 golden guns of different types left. Where am I supposed to apply them?

The rear glass is pretty dim, just like the majority of Lepin glasses that doesn't come with new 2017 logo, that guarantess assembling sequence and quality improvements.

In the car trunk there are 2 spring shooters, so when you press the button in the car interrior they obviously shoot. They actually work (in another car set that I have they don't work). And Ha-ha-ha.

The Lowrider function. Should I say it doesn't work well?

The lowering mechanism is simply 2 pairs of rubber bands. I guess it's exactly jist like the original works. Still using rubber bands, huh?

This one work not for very long and now very well. No big deal for me.
upd. Seems like original Lego version doesn't work well too.

Minifigures are the fun part here.I'll compare them to other manufacturers. I think that's pretty interesting. So Harley.

Xinh has the most colorful print and the most accurately printed hairpiece.

Lepin has right hand issue that I've already encountered with previous set: hand doesn't fit completely in the arm.

Despite having most vivid colors Xinh doesn't print legs' sides. Kudos to Lepin for correct mold of hairpiece (but all have correct molds actually). And there's no big defference between those 3.

Batgirl

Left to right: Lepin, Pogo, Xinh, Lego. Skintones are different. And Pogo used incorrect color for batarang.

Both Lepin and Xinh has failed with hair color. Pogo's color is close to Lego. Also Xinh didn't print leg sides, again.

Cape materials are different. I can't say which one is better. To start with I don't even like Lego version cape, but it's best here without a doubt.

Jokes aside, despite the fact that Xinh has really bad arms printing (see Joker minifigure) and don't print leg sides, they actually do dual legs molding on some minifigures, just like Lego. At the moment other manufactirers can't do dual molds.

Joker, Joker, Joker. Lepin has failed with Asylum sets, where almost no one has correct hair molds so they've repeated mistakes here.

Xinh has incorrect color, while Pogo and Lepin are pretty close to Lego. And how Xinh prints arms is a disaster. It's just the same on their other minifigures - just one stripe of paint and that's all. Others do round print as they can't dual mold hands.

So, what I can say? I liked assembling this set. Overall it looks pretty good, but the lowering fuction of the car doesn't work properly (yup, just original).

Minifigures are decent, but you may wanna to correct some details for your set. Looks like almost correct minifigure can be conjured by mixing Pogo and Xinh.

Review: Arkham Asylum (Lepin 07055)

Heyo, I've finally assembled Asylum several days ago, was going to do Lowrider review first, but decided to wait for Lowrider's spare parts from seller first.

I've bough this set for 78$. It had 39 packets so I had to sort details first. The assembly took me 3 days, about hour-two each day.

So when I finished I realized the tower doesn't fit in my shelf at all.

So I had to reassemble it to make it actually fit. Luckily I've got plenty spares left. So it gonna look like that. But I'll put it behind the Asylum anyway.

The wings of the building are connected to the main hall with connectors, but there is huge fail. Used connector are cross shaped from both sides and the building wings actually have round holes so connectores don't hold properly. And it's like this in the Lego instruction as well.

I had to dig my spare pile to find needed details, so it gonna look like that. This time it works properly. However I've decided not to use them at all to freely positioning parts of the building due to lack of place on my shelf.

So in the end it looks like that from the inside. Pretty detailed if you ask me (ow especially food station, yum pretzels). But honestly detailing could be done better, I mean playability of set suffers.

I had plenty of spares left after building - this pile includes leftovers from removing one floor of tower, still a lot of stuff, though I was missing 1*1 piece, which is pretty common and I had plenty of those.

Now to the more surprises, the set has 1 syringe in Dr. Quinzel's locker and I received 2 pads of different medical stuff that isn't used in the set. Even stethoscope. Okay why there's 2 pair of unused hairpieces? Well it's about minifigures quality.

Straigh to minifigures. Two words - not perfect. Batman and Robin are pretty ok, as they were in Batmobile set. Joker's hairpiece is wrong, Barbara's hairpiece is wrong (the ones from set are on previous photo) so I had to use ginger ponytail from my spare pile, Dr. Quinzel hairpiece is wrong, though close to the original, Aaron Cash has Supermas's hair actually, which is also wrong. 

Riddler has just a hat with no hair and as he has double face prints technically he's second two-face here, Ivy's hairpiece is wrong as well and Two-face's hair too. GCPD officers and Catwoman are surprisingly fine.

Most likely I'll leave positioning like that. Honestly, the police car looks unecessary in this set, its blue color stands out. As well as I removed the gym accessories and put the tower on the background.

The question to Lego as it's their design about the playability of this set. It's made cool, but it's also very tiny (despite big size in general). Look at those prison cells or the laundry - there's not much place in there to actually play with the set.

Or this metal detector. The stickers are glued on the sides so you can't actually play with that withought putting it out. Oh and Lepin has to improve glasses transparency.

So I've bought it for 78$ and the original costs 150$. Set has 1628 pieces, while original Lego Detective's office for example costs 160$ and has 2262 pieces or Parisian Restaurant (160$ as well) has 2469 pieces. Both are 65$ by Lepin. So I consider Asylum overpiced and I mean both Lego and Lepin versions. Worth only for fans.

I'm waiting for Lepins and Decools copies of old Asylum that were announced recently to be out. I haven't decided yet what brand I'll pick. But I certainly need that Asylum.

Review: The Batmobile (Lepin 07045)

Heyooo. Today I wanna review The Batmobile - Lepin 07045, copy of Lego 70905.

Got it for 33.99$ from AliExpress. I have to say packing was good and no details were damaged as well there were no missing pieces.

Don't forget that you can zoom pics by clicking on them.

I noticed that packets were numbered (never paid attention before, maybe that's new Lepin feature). This set had 16 packets, though it's not an assembling sequence, just the feature to check quantity, convenient for both sellers and buyers.

Assembly was easy (after sorting of course).

Don't pay attention to sets on the right, they are not related to this one, I'm just running out of shelf space. Btw green platform is not included as well.

In assembled state Batmobile can change wheels positions from lowrider to highrider.

The technic parts that are responsible for tansformation work very well. Nothing's loose which is perfect. Though wheels assembly process is very repetitive.

There are a lot of stickers in this set. Luckily seller stickered them into instruction which is smart. Cause usually stickers arrive in bad shape, but not this time.

There's a catapult here, sorta. When you rotate it cabin glass jumps off. Not my favourite part. Wheels are good and work fine as well.

The only problematic parts were those bat wings on the rear. One of cylinder's hole (that holds 1 of the wings) is little offset, so wings have different positions. And one of them is more loose than another. Not a big issue for me.

Minifigures. Lepin has improved minifigures comparing to previous sets I've ordered. Printing quality has increased, though still not as good as Lego. Capes are made of some sort thin material, not very durable.

Original Lego Robin's arms are half molded, means it's 2 colored mold, Lepin just uses 1 colored mold and paints it. New technology to develop, Lepin.

Man-Bat is cool and rare by the way. I doubt there are any sold separately or in minifigures' sets.

Now to the issues. It's about Kabuki twins, which are twins too when it comes to deffects. Their right arms don't have enough space to fit hands in so hands just hang out and are loose.

I need to cut the hand and glue them into arm, so it will look better, but won't be moving. Oh, or get Pogo Kabuki twins.

In general I'm very pleased with this set, Batmobile is solid and technic parts work well. I'm glad Lepin is improving minifigures and printing too. But they have to work on transparent parts to make them more clear.

Review: Rainbow Batman and Zebra Batman

Heyo, today I've got Zebra Batmen x2 and Rainbow Batman x2. By different manufacturers. Let's compare them.

Let's start from Zebra.

One is from Decool, it started to be sold separately some time ago, I've bought it for 1.8$ from Aliexpress. ID is D004 (which also means Decool has started new minifigures numeration). But it's certainly Decool considering leg joints.

The other one is from DLP9042 set, I've bought a set of 8 minifigures, so 1 minifig price was about 0.90$

Decool minifigures come in transparent packet, DLP has black warning notes on packet. Decool Zebra Batman has glow-in-the-dark head, while DLP has just white head.

Printing looks alike, but in fact it is different in details. Compare side views.

Capes are also different both in prints and, though material is quite similar.

Both have printed arms and leg sides.

So there's not much difference between these two, I think Decool one is more interesting because of glowing head, though it costs more as well.

And here are Rainbow Batmen. I would say they are completely different in terms of cowls, capes, colors and even batarangs. DLP was purchased in set DLP9042, about 0.90$ per minifigure, Decool was sold separately as KF907, but KF is not a brand, real code should be D001, because this minifigure is Decool obviously (leg joint confirms that). Price was 1.62$ 

Ironically Decool uses the cowl DLP usually uses, while DLP used "standard" Batman cowl.

I would say DLP cowl shape allowed more interesting printing decisions.

DLP colors look more vivid and bright. Cape as well.

Capes material is almost identical, though DLP one is little better.

There are printing issues, because of many colors used paint is smudged, press the image to zoom it.

Here I would pick DLP, because of better design, colors and lower price.
